Greenville, Texas Firefighter Venting Close Call Video

This is an incident I witnessed on April 3, 2016 in Greenville, TX. Units arrived with a working fire on the second floor of a two story apartment building. The fire was knocked down inside the units, but extended into the attic. A roof crew cut a ventilation hole low on the windward side over the fire. Later, a crew climbed back on the roof with a hose to put water into the ventilation hole. The firefighters became separated and one fell through the roof near the ridge. The firefighter that fell through the roof was somehow able to get through the burning attic and back to the ventilation hole. The newspaper reported that two firefighters were transported to the hospital with first and second degree burns.
