At 12:24am Feb17th, 2013, the Burnaby Fire Department attended 3526 Smith Ave for the report of a fire. Fire Department arrived and found smoke and flames showing from the basement of a 4 story apartment building. Multiple people and pets were rescued by ladders from the building. The fire grew out of control and eventually consumed the entire building and partially collapsed.
