On December 12, 2013 Two persons died after flames tore through a two story apartment house in L.A.’s Echo Park district. LAFD Task Force 20 Engine 6, first on scene encountered heavy smoke and fire from the structure. L.A. Firefighters forced entry into to the first and second floor and were forced back out as flames engulfed the second floor and attic of the older two story apartment house. It took close to 100 L.A. Firefighters approximately one hour to bring the fire under control. Three injured persons were transported from the scene. Approximately 25 persons were displaced from the cluster of apartments at 1031 North Bonnie Brae Street. The cause of the tragic late night fire is under investigation.
