11-8-2013 / Los Angeles Firefighters first on scene at 719 East 9th Street reported a 50 by 100 ft. commercial building with fire “through the roof.” Firefighters made entry into the “American Fabric Company” and quickly advanced lines into the one story structure, knocking down the fire in the structure and on the roof above. The main bulk of fire was knocked down in 25 minutes. Additional companies including a tractor company were called in for overhaul. There were no reported injuries, the cause of that late night fire is under investigation.
A day later L.A. Firefighters were called back to the same building, were they extinguished another fire, this time discovering a dead body in the structure, believed to be a possible burglary suspect. That fire is also under investigation. The same building was the scene of a previous injury fire in February of this year (2013).
