On September 15, 2013 in Pasadena, California – Firefighters first on scene had “fire through the roof” of a one story commercial building near the intersection of Fair Oaks Avenue and Peoria Street in the City of Pasadena. Firefighters forced entry into a row of commercial buildings including a Beauty Salon, an Internet Cafe, a Furniture Shop and a Bicycle Shop. As flames roared 100 feet into the air Firefighters set up a Ladder Pipe, requesting a Second Alarm Assignment from Verdugo Dispatch. Firefighters went into a Defensive Mode, knocking down the fire with three Ladder Pipes and several Handlines. It took Firefighters from several departments approximately two hours to knock down the main bulk of fire. Damage was estimated at one million dollars to the structure and its contents. The cause of the 4:30 A.M. blaze is under investigation.
