Fiery Blaze Rips Through Williamsburg Warehouse
(CBS) BROOKLYN A massive warehouse fire along Cook Street in Brooklyn took hours to get under control. This afternoon investigators are trying to determine the cause.
Five hours after the fire started, water was still being sprayed on the warehouse located along Cook Street in the East Williamsburg section of Brooklyn.
Joey Verala works across the street at a sanitation repair shop. Varela told CBS 2’s Tamsen Fadal, “I thought it was our shop. I said “oh no!” Thank God it’s wasn’t our shop, I’m sorry it happened here but there is nothing you can do about.”
A man at the scene, who said he owned the building, was too distraught to talk. However, according to people who live in the area, the warehouse stores packaged frozen foods.
