A Rhode Island-based information technology company reports it has won a $2.3 million contract with the New York City Fire Department.
Purvis Systems Inc. is expected to upgrade the department’s emergency reporting system that includes the electronics and communications systems behind the fire and police pull boxes scattered across New York City. The company is scheduled to provide voice and audio features and signaling components, according to company officials.
Founded in 1973, Purvis Systems, which employees 135 workers, specializes in technologies for the public safety and defense industries. Purvis clients include the American Red Cross and the U.S. Naval Undersea Warfare Center.
